Public Minds

IPAA NSW Practitioners' network

The Practitioners’ Network is a family of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) and Regional Networks providing members who have common interests with a forum to share information and discuss issues, trends and new approaches to specific areas of public administration.

The groups

Special Interest Groups and Regional Networks are owned and driven by their members. Successful operation of a group depends on its members being actively involved.

IPAA NSW will not drive these groups to be created or maintained.

If there is no such momentum then a group will no longer meet.

Group activities include:

ü      informally sharing information, knowledge and experience

ü      discussing particular topics at events

ü      using the IPAA NSW website as a virtual meeting space or to post ideas (facility to be developed)

ü      documenting ideas

ü      writing articles

ü      researching topics and distributing findings.

The groups in operation currently (as at November 2009) are:

Special Interest Groups

P    Young Professionals (convenor: Nathan Booth)

P    Sustainability (convenor: Fiona Campbell)

P    People,Performance and Culture (convenor: Natalie Archer)

P    Capacity building (convenor: Duncan Sutherland)
